I probably wouldn't consider retcons like the change from MESE on the mese block to the runes we have now, or the addition of dry dirt with dry grass to replace dirt with dry grass, to be lore. The Dimensions mod has some kind of lore about why you can teleport to so many dimensions and they are all mostly uniform, instead of earth-like. Space and mods like Planet Moon, Planet Mars, and Jumpdrive usually go together to form some kind of lore about space, and well, secrets buried under the surface of Mars - no spoilers. Ethereal has the magic of the crystal biome, staff of light, crystal gilly staff. Then there are different lores for different mods and games. Who knows why there are there at the bottom of the world, encased in stone? Were they put there by an ancient civilisation that wanted to cut themselves off from the surface world? Are they displaced from the surface down to the depths by geological shifting and tectonic plate movements? There are cobblestone and sandstone dungeons scattered throughout the world, even at its deepest depths. They are the reason people fear the dark in Minetest. Oerkki are creatures that once existed in the game. Is it even from the Minetest world? It appears to have strange runes etched into it, as if it was left by an alien civilisation. Mese is this mysterious substance which is harder than steel but not as hard as diamond, and it conducts digital signals, so it has some kind of lore as magical.
